#9 Joe Gardener: After being drafted in the third round of the 2009 draft, Joe Gardner has not disappointed. He maintains a fastball in the low 90′s with good downward action that allows him to induce groundballs and strikeouts at will. After having possibly one of the best seasons of any pitcher in the minors he will likely enter the 2011 season in Double A Akron’s rotation.

10. Tyler Holt: What he lacks in talent he more than makes up for in passion. Whenever he steps out on the field, he is by far the most intense and emotional. He received a rather high bonus (500K) for a tenth round pick but has thus far shown up and earned a spot in the top ten of Wahoo World’s Top Ten Prospect countdown.

Travis Buck on board for 2011

Travis Buck. Unless you follow baseball religiously you might not know this name. There’s a chance that even if you do follow religiously you don’t know him. Travis was selected by Oakland with the 36th overall pick in the 2005 draft.

Indians Sign Austin Kearns to 1 YR Deal

The Cleveland Indians have announced they have signed OF Austin Kearns to a 1 YR deal for the 2011 season. Unlike last year this contract is a Major League deal and guarentees Austin 1.3 million dollars for the season.

Kearns had won the Indians fourth OF spot last year after coming to camp as a minor league free agent. Injuries and a solid peformance from Kearns ultimately led to his frequent inclusion in the everyday lineup. He was even able to hit on several occasions as the clean up hitter for the Tribe because of some of the injuries.

Once again, on Opening Day, Kearns will be managed by Manny Acta. Manny was of course, the manager for 3 of the 4 years Kearns spent in Washington and is now in his second season with the Tribe.

The Indians had been looking this off-season for a right handed OF bat with some versitility (Kearns can play all 3 OF spots) and were able to address that need with a familiar face.
